The Power Plug
is a highly developed, re-programmable plug
& play, piggyback microcomputer which works
in conjunction with the Engine Management
System (EMS), already fitted to most modern
diesel engine vehicles, in order that
improvements in engine efficiency, power and
fuel consumption can be realized. Most
modern diesel-powered vehicles are
electronically controlled. The Electronic
Control Units (ECU) have been developed to
suit World Markets, and have certain
tolerances. At Wildcat we are able to offer

modifications & upgrades with guaranteed

The Power Plug has been designed as a
piggyback computer, capable of interacting
with your vehicle’s ECU to optimize the
air/fuel mixture, timing, boost and injector
pressures, under various loads and driving

The Power Plug
has been programmed specifically to enhance
your vehicle’s performance under tough
conditions, taking into consideration all
relevant factors. Unlike other systems there
is no tampering with the vehicles’ ECU or

How does the Power Plug improve your
vehicle's performance?
The POWERPLUG intercepts the signals from
the engine’s sensors and allows the ECU’s
original pre-set MAP to be altered and
enhanced. These
modifications
allow the engine to reach it’s full
potential in terms of power, fuel
consumption and drivability.
Where do improvements come from?
When manufacturers develop their ECU’s they
must make compromises that take into account
the production and operating variations of
the vehicle.
No two vehicles are exactly the same due to
production tolerances and depending on where
and how the vehicles are used they may
experience different climatic conditions,
fuel quality, service intervals, driving
styles etc. Taking all these factors into
account results in a manufacturers pre-set
MAP which isn’t optimum for the region of
use.How is the Power Plug different?
Most other
diesel plug products only adjust the fuel
quantity, the speed or load of the engine is
rarely taken into account during this
adjustment, and they are incapable of
adjusting the point of fuel injection. These
limited scopes of adjustment leads to an
inability to control smoke output, critical
combustion temperatures, and pressures.
Dastek are able to alter live, the fuel
quantity and injection timing of over 476
individual points of the engine speed and
load MAPs to provide the optimum
combination of performance, economy and
safety. This is done using a rolling road
dynamometer, a device which accurately
measures your vehicles power to 1/10
horsepower, and precisely monitoring these
critical temperatures, pressures and smoke
emissions
How does the power plug overcome safety
problems?
By strictly monitoring the exhaust gas and
coolant temperatures during the development
stage the POWERPLUG is able to safely
enhance the diesel engine’s performance and
economy.
Don't other diesel companies tune live?
Some other companies may claim to use a
dynamometer to live tune their development
pre-programmed diesel plugs. However,
whether it be a diesel box, replacement chip
or the reprogramming of the original chip
through the vehicles diagnostic port, their
process is a rather hit and miss affair of
making a slight change to the manufacturers
MAP, then use the dynamometer to check the
results, make another change and so forth.
Obviously to safely enhance every point
would require many hundreds of attempts.
